For what is believed to be the first time ever in England, an audience of university undergraduates has decisively rejected the notion that “global warming” is or could become a global crisis. The only previous defeat for climate extremism among an undergraduate audience was at St. Andrew’s University, Scotland, in the spring of 2009, when the climate extremists were defeated by three votes.
Last week, members of the historic Oxford Union Society, the world’s premier debating society, carried the motion “That this House would put economic growth before combating climate change” by 135 votes to 110. The debate was sponsored by the Science and Public Policy Institute, Washington DC.

Dear Pablo: Is it true that the heat absorbed by dark solar panels contributes to climate change?
The Source Of The Myth
This myth recently surfaced in the sequel to Freakanomics, call Superfreakanomics. Some people are very disappointed with the authors, who created quite a stir with their first book. The source of the myth is a quote by Nathan Myhrvold, the former Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft (commenting outside of his expertise):
“The problem with solar cells is that they’re black, because they are designed to absorb light from the sun. But only about 12 percent gets turned into electricity, and the rest is reradiated as heat–which contributed to global warming.”

Just found out: Not Evil, Just Wrong will be streamed LIVE during the premiere time. It will stream live at the following sources at 8 pm EDT/5 pm Pacific: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/not-evil-just-wrong, http://bighollywood.breitbart.com and http://action.afa.net.
Not Evil, Just Wrong is a film written by Phelim McAleer and directed by Phelim McAleer & Ann McElhinney (Mine Your Own Business) which counters Al Gore’s notion of Global Warming.
Arguments over whether the earth is warming or, indeed, cooling abound. Especially after the BBC article Whatever Happened to Global Warming alleged that there has been no evidence of the effect of “greenhouse gases” in the last eleven years.
CBS News, on the other hand, reported on the Catlin Arctic Survey expedition in the Arctic.
“The conclusions from this work and from other measurements that have been done, and from new models, are that the summer ice will disappear within twenty to thirty years, and a lot of it will be gone within 10 years,” said Professor Peter Wadhams, with the University of Cambridge Polar Ocean Physics Group.
The good news is that it will open up new shipping lanes. The bad news is that polar ice helps keep the planet cool by reflecting the sun. Once it’s gone, it is likely global warming will speed up.
Critics of the expedition note that the teams equipment failed to operate and their method of measuring the ice “the old fashioned way” could not produce reliable scientific results.
